Hi! Mellisa here, also known as HoneyBee Heather. I’m an artist, facilitator and non-formal educator based in the colorful city of Burlington, Vermont. My art is all about sparking joy, especially for kids and kids-at-heart, through playful, vibrant creations like Champicorn©—the magical love child of Lake Champlain’s Champ and a unicorn! Champicorn uses they/them pronouns and shows up on the beach when you close your eyes and make a wish (just trust me on this one).

After years of living a nomadic life, I landed in Burlington 14 years ago and immediately fell in love—with the community, the creativity, and the everyday weirdness that inspires my work. Only recently have I fully embraced my identity as both an ARTIST and QUEER, and let me tell you—it feels like coming home. 🌈

It’s never too late to come out as Queer or as an Artist.
